Flor was born in Venezuela and lives in the United States. Her driving force is “to communicate through the joy of art”. It is this commitment to explore nature of ‘joy’ that shapes her work. She travels widely and inspiration comes unexpectedly. There is delight in an architectural structure, a loved dwelling, a city’s geometry, a misty evening in England or in the wastes of a desert. Inspiring moments have a colour, which become works with layers of life-affirming joy. Her studies at the Parsons School in New York and the Brentwood Art Center, California enables her to communicate powerfully in different media.

Flor writes: “How often do everyday objects; like buildings, streets and lights, go unnoticed? If you observe and follow your inner guidance or intuition, you will see beauty, shapes, forms, colours, lights, shadows, and contrasts. By focusing in on the ordinary, you will find out how vast and rich our everyday life is, inside and outside of us. Mundane yet enormously interesting compositions are subjects for creativity: they inspired the conceptualisation of my art. Take a moment to think about it, look around you, and appreciate life!”

“Intuition is real. How often do everyday objects; like buildings, streets and lights, go completely unnoticed? If you begin to observe and follow your inner guidance or intuition, you will see beauty, shapes, forms, colours, lights, shadows, and contrasts. By focusing in on the ordinary, you will find out how vast and rich our everyday life is, inside and outside of us. All there mundane yet enormously interesting compositions as subjects for creativity, have moved and inspired the conceptualisation of my art. Take a moment to think about it, look around you, and appreciate life! My work has been inspired by Ranchitos and Fabelas in Venezuela, Colombia and Brazil, evolving into the Cities and going far inside their dreams, values, thoughts, open spaces, windows and doors. I feel a great joy working with the vibrant colours from my tropical country of Venezuela, the colourful homes, mountains, beaches, weather, people, food, and the way you live in the Caribbean. I find my flow to express myself throughout my paintings.”
