Inko Ai Takita

Inko Ai Takita is a UK-based manga artist. She was born in Kyoto, Japan, and studied art at Kyoto Zokei University of Art & Design, before moving to England, where she studied at Central Saint Martin’s College of Art & Design.

Since then Inko has worked as a Manga artist delivering workshops around UK, including British Libraries the Victoria and Albert Museum.  She takes part in projects such as creating manga posters at Embankment station in collaboration with the artist David Blandy and produces with manga cartoons, illustrations, and picture books. Her art is greatly influenced by Japanese traditional and pop art

Inco has been in many past Encounters exhibitions.Her contribution to Encounters 10th Anniversary Celebration was : “Once opened the door, you’ll ‘encounter’ artworks from different countries and cultures yet they are curated in harmony at Encounters. Medias are varied from jewelleries to video installations, photography to cookery, and all looks fresh and fascinating. Visitors surely have a nice surprise stepping into a residential house and revealing there’s a visual wonderland there. I’ve been enjoyed so much sharing the experience of exhibiting at Encounters with such a variety of brilliant artworks from everywhere”.
