In July Venezuelan’s all over the World participated in a vote as to whether there a new Constitutional Assembly should be formed with the power to change the constitution. Encounters was one of the runner-up houses this year. The winner was Montefiore Open House who exhibited a diverse range of work in a variety of media, to include painting, printing, textiles, photography, sculpture, mosaics, ceramics and knitted work. Encounters Art Space is proud to see two of Noemí Márquez’s superb ceramic sculptures on show in the peaceful and enchanting setting of Architectural Plants Sculptural Gallery in their sculpture garden. Her sculptures are perfectly in harmony with the vast collection of the world’s finest plants and other prestigious artists.
The AICA Award Winners have been announced in Venezuela. Several leading artists received with this award a well-deserved recognition for their artistic careers. The “Consummated Artist Award” went to sculptor Pedro Fermín – whose work was on show in Encounters in 2016 has now been sent to Madrid.
After Encounters May Show in 2015 sculpter Rafael Berrio was invited to take his whole collection to one of Sussex’s most interesting venues. About 30 artists display and sell their work in a garden setting. One of the pieces that Rafael is showing is pictured here. The show continues for another year.
